In case you haven’t heard, both the CA Assembly and Senate have recommended a significant increase in funding for afterschool programs! We are grateful that both the Senate and the Assembly have called for critical funding to keep ASES program doors open for the children, families, schools, and communities that rely on them. Now, the Assembly and Senate will need to reach a compromise in the Budget Conference Committee and negotiations with Leadership and the Governor.
This means that we can't rest now, we have to keep pushing until the budget is finalized.
We need Senator Nancy Skinner and Assembly Member Ting's support to make sure afterschool programs stay open for the children and families that count on them.
Senator Skinner and Assembly Member Ting needs to hear that afterschool programs are vital to their district. Make sure your voice is heard by calling them by June 4th!
