Title: President

Compensation: Starting salary range is $95k-$110k plus incentive opportunities.

The President will work in partnership with the Board of Directors to shape the organization’s strategic direction, ensure financial sustainability, and expand JA’s presence and impact across the region. This is a highly visible, community-facing leadership opportunity for someone who is passionate about empowering youth and skilled in nonprofit management, fundraising, and stakeholder engagement. About Junior Achievement of Sacramento

Junior Achievement of Sacramento delivers innovative learning experiences to more than 6,500 students annually, equipping them with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to own their future economic success. JA Sacramento is part of the national Junior Achievement USA network and operates in close collaboration with business, education, and civic partners.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the chief ambassador for JA Sacramento, advancing its mission and growing its visibility and impact in the community.

  • Lead strategic planning, organizational growth, and innovation in alignment with JA USA’s direction.

  • Oversee operations and program delivery to ensure impact, quality, and alignment with JA’s educational goals.

  • Lead and develop a high-performing staff team; manage organizational performance and staffing strategy.

  • Maintain strong financial oversight, including budget development, forecasting, and compliance.

  • Drive fundraising and resource development, including major gifts, corporate support, grants, and new funding sources.

  • Collaborate with the Board of Directors to ensure governance excellence and strategic alignment.

  • Represent JA in local media, business, and civic forums; build deep partnerships with schools, businesses, and government leaders.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

  • Minimum of six years of relevant leadership experience, ideally in nonprofit, education, or youth development.

  • Proven experience managing people, programs, and budgets.

  • Strong fundraising, public speaking, and relationship-building skills.

  • Deep understanding of financial literacy, economic principles, or youth empowerment.

  • Ability to work effectively with a Board of Directors and diverse stakeholders.

Preffered

  • Experience leading in a nonprofit, foundation, or education setting.

  • Familiarity with the Sacramento business and education landscape.

  • Expertise in fundraising, marketing, or strategic communications.

  • CFRE or comparable certification a plus.

Compensation and Benefits

A competitive compensation package will be offered, commensurate with experience, and includes benefits. Starting salary range is $95k-$110k plus incentive opportunities.
