“...Tell your heart that the fear of suffering is worse than the suffering itself. And no heart has ever suffered when it goes in search of its dream.”
— Paulo Coelho

Gabriel Martinez was born and raised in various parts of the Inland Empire located in Southern California. His parents had to work extremely hard day in and day out to try to better their circumstances, and it was this drive which lead Gabriel to realize that any situation can change if you are determined, decisive, and dream of a better day. After graduating high school he sought to find out how he can help be an instrument of change by volunteering with different community outreach programs such as Heart2Serve, Helping Hands Pantry of San Bernardino, Lunch on me, and the Boys and Girls Club of San Bernardino while working a full time job as a laborer.

Even though Gabriel was helping people, he felt that much more could be done. He learned that for him to make the type of change he envisions, it would be impossible to do on his own, so he joined Public Allies and took a long drive to better not only himself but so he can then lift up those around him as well. He will work tirelessly for what is right and make sure everyone has an even platform to address their needs.

Gabriel enjoys philosophy, writing, reading, meditating and exploring new places in his free time.
