JCCSF Camp programs serve over 1000 campers, grades K 12, in over 200 individual camps over the course of 18 weeks throughout the year. Our camps provide children safe and supportive opportunities for children to learn and practice social skills, explore their creativity and expand their knowledge of Jewish values and culture. This summer, we are launching a pilot partnership with The Brandeis School of San Francisco to bring 4 weeks of camp to their location, hosting over 20 staff and 180 campers in 17 different camp options.
The Assistant Camp Manager Brandeis Campus is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation and management of the JCCSF camps at the Brandeis School. The Assistant Camp Managers primary responsibilities are to mentor and supervise camp staff, ensure site compliance with American Camp Association standards, plan a portion of camps, and work with children and families of all cultures and backgrounds to provide a meaningful camping experience. This position will work with and be supported by the Camp Manager and Assistant Manager.
Assist in the planning and execution of staff trainings and camp content.
Serve as the lead for compliance with American Camp Association accreditation, standards and best practices.
With camp management, work to hire, train, supervise, and support unit head, specialists and counselors, including onboarding, evaluations and timesheet management
Maintain business systems to track enrollment, manage budgets, order supplies, and inventory materials.
Work with camp and marketing teams to build new outreach pathways and build relationships with new families, staff and partners.
Serve as first contact for camp families regarding behavior concerns and help to facilitate pre- and post-camp communications to families
Model behavior and practices based on the JCCSF mission and working principles, and represent the JCCSF throughout the Bay Area.

Ages 25 or older
2-5 years experience in youth or family programming, preferably in camp setting.
Entrepreneurial and creative thinker
Experience with budget development, administration and program planning desired
Supervisory skills, including the ability to inspire and develop young staff members
Excellent oral and written communication skills
Strong time management, organization and multi-tasking abilities
Ability to work effectively and cooperatively with diverse groups, including JCCSF and Brandeis staff, parents, campers and the public
Ability to develop and implement creative, safe and challenging programs for children and families
Knowledge of Jewish culture, traditions, and community, and previous experience in Jewish programming are a plus
