The Wooten Center is a nonprofit youth center founded by Myrtle Faye Rumph in honor of her son, killed in a drive-by shooting. We provide free afterschool and low-cost summer programs for more than 350 students per year in grades 3-12 at the center and other sites in the South Los Angeles area.
Hours are M-F, 1:30-6:30pm
This person will provide assessments, homework assistance and tutoring for students in grades 3-12 in our afterschool program. They will also be involved with lesson planning and supporting other education activities, including STEM classes, college tours and advisement, College and Career Day, etc.
College student or degree in education or other related field requirement.
Child development coursework included preferred.
Must be proficient in computer operations and have ability to learn and teach new software and technolgy.
Must complete criminal background and child abuse checks, fingerprinting and TB test with no negative reports.
