Join the CalSAC Trainer Network

The CalSAC Trainer Network is a professional development and training project serving out-of-school time professionals across California. The goal of the Trainer Network is to build the training and facilitation skills of professionals in the field who, in turn, provide training to afterschool and school-age care program staff, volunteers and administrators.  CalSAC Trainers work in a variety of programs across the state, from rural to urban communities, school and community based programs, and serve the broad range of the child care and school-age care field.

There are many benefits to becoming a CalSAC Trainer.  As a trainer you will:

 - Participate in a 3-day intensive training institute near your community

 - Complete a 1-year certification process with support from CalSAC mentors

 - Learn to provide high-quality trainings on a variety of topics

 - Have access to more than 60 different training modules to advance the field

 - Earn up to $600 training once you become a certified CalSAC Trainer

 - Have access to exclusive leadership and professional development opportunities

 - Join a unique statewide community of professionals

There is no better time to join the CalSAC Trainer Network!

Getting Started

To become a CalSAC Trainer you must complete the online application form and be accepted to attend a ToT (Training of Trainers) Institute. ToT Institutes focus on the skills required to be an excellent trainer and the content of the CalSAC Trainer Manual and Training Curriculum.  Participants will learn CalSAC Trainer Competencies, tools, techniques, assessment and evaluation.

Each year, CalSAC welcomes 120 new professionals throughout California into the Trainer Network. The Fall 2010 ToT Institutes are held in three locations across the state. Below are the upcoming ToT Institute dates and locations. Applications are due by Friday, August 6, 2010. Late applications will not be accepted.

Applicants MUST be able to attend all three days of the training. The tentative schedule for all ToT Institutes is Thursday 10am to 8pm, Friday 8am to 10pm, and Saturday 8am to 4pm. Please note: applicants will be considered for participation in the ToT nearest to the work location provided on the application.
