In the last 26 years, the California School-Age Consortium (CalSAC) has worked diligently to bring attention and resources
to the important work and contributions afterschool
programs offer to communities throughout California.
CalSAC was the first statewide organization to support
professionals working with school-age children and youth outside of school hours and
continues to be an important resource and knowledge
leader in the field.
The afterschool field has grown and evolved so extensively
over the last decade, however, that it is time for
CalSAC to change the way it does business and bring
its resources more directly to programs.
With well over 50% of afterschool grants directed at programs in Southern
California, there is a clear need for more support
in the region and for CalSAC to reorganize its resources
to meet this growing need.
Effective November, 2008, CalSAC officially expands its offices to Southern
California.
CalSAC's new office, located in Los Angeles County, will serve
as a key contributor to CalSAC's mission of serving every afterschool program, statewide.
CalSAC is eager to explore how to better serve programs
in this vast and populous region of the state, and
we look forward to expanding our reach and hearing
what our constituents need and want!
